Combating Oppression, Striving for Justice

Do's and Don'ts
  • Do stay on topic for the forum you are in, and keep it relevant.
  • Do take the initiative to share viewpoints and ask questions in a spirit of mutual learning;
  • Do speak for yourself, not for others (speak your truth);
  • Do seek first to understand, then to be understood (respect other posters and be open to other viewpoints, statements, ideas or questions);
  • Do say “ouch,” if necessary, then educate;
  • Do feel free to disagree, but keep it constructive and appropriate;
  • Do be welcoming of newcomers;
  • Do ask if you have questions;
  • Do keep it legal. Don't post anything unlawful, libelous or that infringes upon any intellectual property rights;
  • Do abide by the rules for Acceptable Use and Conduct on the Ning Platform.
  • Do not personalize conflict. Though we may disagree, please don’t label, stereotype, threaten, or call people names;
  • Don't post anything that contains vulgarity or nudity;
  • Don't infringe upon another person's privacy rights;
  • Don't post anything off-topic for the forum you are in;
  • Don't cross-post the same topic to multiple forums or post the same message to multiple threads;
  • Don't be a troll. "Trolling" is defined as: Posting with the intent of stirring up trouble or to incite disruption. An example of trolling would be posting to a thread without the intent to provide constructive suggestions or comments and instead making disruptive comments.
  • **Confidentiality Reminder** Individuals may share their personal stories here. These posts are not to be copied and pasted anywhere else without the approval of the author. Also, never post names, photos, or videos of foster children or dependents of the Juvenile Court. Please use nick names for children that are not your legal children through birth or adoption.
